Transport and arrival - Breakfast Club analysis

Each student arrived in similar ways for their detention at Shermer High School but each arrival to the high school symbolises some different about each character.

For example, most of the students arrived in cars however each car is different. The first arrival was of a car that is richer compared to the other cars showing a much more wealthy family (close up shot of the BMW branded car) the female character is more spoilt compared to the other students. This is different compared to another car arrival from another female character towards the end, clearly from the car, the family is not as wealthy, and she doesn't communicate with her parents compared to the first student. There is either some sense of hostility in her family. The 'Jock' of the film arrives in a station wagon, a very manly car reflects his responsibilities and values as a student. There was also another character who was very different as he walked to the high school instead. We get the sense that he is carefree and may be the typical bad boy, 'rebel', of the high school from the way he isn't as cautious of the way he walks to his high school on his own. He represents independence and already establishes his dominating character.

There are many types of ways to arrive to college including;

- Car (dropped of by parents, taxi, cab, act.)
- Walking/by foot
- Scooter/bike/motorcycle
- public transport (bus, train, tram, etc.)

Different forms of transport may represent something different about a character as seen in the Breakfast club. The forms of transport above are forms of transport i could use when i film my teen movie with my group. For example a character can travel to college by foot showing they are local and most likely knows the different sectors of the college and what goes in the locals. However, another character may arrive by train showing they are from the college.
