Transport and Arrial

Transport and Arrival

In the opening of The Breakfast Club, there are five students that are individually arriving to Sherman high school, for saturday detention, in different types of transport and the means of transport that they arrive in symbolises their character.

The first character to arrive, is with her father in  BMW, and this tells the audience that she is a rich and well off.

The second character to arrive is a boy that comes in a cramped, cheap car with him, his mother and his little sister all sitting in the front, and we realise that the is not wealthy.

The Jock arrives next, and he comes in a station wagon with his father and this supports his athletic character and gives off a masculine feeling to the viewers.

The boy who is a rebel arrives next. He walks and almost gets hit by a car, this supports his 'naughty boy', cool and carefree character.

Last to get to arrives to detention is a middle class girl who comes out of a car that is quite stylish, showing that she is quite well off. She is a basket case and as she gets out the car, the car speeds Off, suggesting that her parents do not care for her.
