Three Teen Movies

One teen movie I chose was The Inbetweeners Movie.
The main genre of this film is comedy. This film mostly appeals to young men as the main characters are young men which makes the characters easy to relate to. The film also has a pre conceived audience as the film is based on the popular television series that aired on E4 for three years.
The main storyline of the film is the four main characters finishing their A Levels and going on holiday to celebrate where chaos ensues. This allows the audience to relate to the characters if similar events in the film happened to members of the audience in real life.

The second teen movie I chose was The Mortal Instruments: City Of Bones.

The genre of the film is urban fantasy. The film follows a young girl named Clary who finds out she is a decedent in a line of Shadowhunters and the film follows her way of dealing with the fact she's a shadowhunter in the company of experienced Shadowhunters.
This film's general target audience are teenage girls as the main character is a teenage girl and there's also a romance storyline in the film too.
This film also has a pre conceived audience as the film is an adaptation of the first book in a series of six books in The Mortal Instruments series by Cassandra Clare.
The star appeal in the film comes from the two lead actors.
Lily Collins is best known for her work in Mirror, Mirror and Abduction. She is also the daughter of singer Phil Collins.
Jamie Campbell Bower is best known for his work in the Harry Potter films and the Twilight films and also for his work as a musician.

The third teen movie I chose was The Hunger Games.
The genre for this film is dystopian. The film follows a girl named Katniss as she is thrown into a competition called The Hunger Games in place of her sister Prim as she competes to be the last standing victor.
The film's general target audience is mainly teenage girls as, like The Mortal Instruments, the series has a female character as the lead. There is a slight romance plot in the film but the film mostly deals with the political aspect of the event known as The Hunger Games.
This film also has a pre conceived audience as this is the first book in a series of three, with the other books in The Hunger Games trilogy also being adapted into films.
The main star appeal in the film comes from Jennifer Lawrence who, at the time of release of the first Hunger Games was an Academy Award Nominee however by the time of release of the second film, Catching Fire, she had been nominated again and won on her second nomination.
Josh Hutcherson is also popular as he has done films aimed at a teenage market such as Bridge to Terabithia and Journey To The Centre of The Earth.
